The museum needs your help! Do you have experience with any of the following areas?

Transcription: transcribing oral history audio tapes

Research: researching various museum related topics and writing reports that can be used in newsletters, exhibits or other publications

Data entry: entering information into the computer

Staffing: greeting and providing information about Peabody to museum visitors, create lesson plans for area students, and assist with student tours in the fall. .

Object Catalogers: catalog and number historical artifacts. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience and individual training, working closely with staff and volunteers. Primary duties include the following: Inventory, describe and catalog collection materials; numbering and re-housing of collection materials; data entry of collection information into PastPerfect collection management software. Skills Required: Careful attention to detail. Highly organized. Ability to work independently. Learn about antiques, how to research them, and how museums care for objects. Commitment: 6-8 hours a month, weekdays.
