Peabody Leatherworkers Museum

To honor the thousands of individuals who spent mornings before school, summers during college or lifelong careers laboring in leather, the City of Peabody is proud to announce the creation of the Peabody Leatherworkers Museum. The museum will open in Fall 2008.

The PLM will be located at 205 Washington Street next to the
George Peabody House Museum. The brand new structure will resemble a barn that was formally on the property at the turn of the century (see photo top right). The museum will feature a display/program area, a media center and state-of-the-art storage for the museum's collection.
Donate your leather objects to the museum!

The PLM will be a place for the community to come together and experience our shared history. Because history is best told by the people that lived it, members of the community are encouraged to participate.
